She's prettier...

Do you look at someone’s else’s life and suddenly feeling like yours isn’t enough?

It’s that silent sickness we catch.

There will always be someone richer, prettier, more successful, more “together” than you.

And yet—every time we look sideways instead of inwards, we drain a little more joy out of our own lives. 😒

When you scroll and see someone “doing better,” your brain releases dopamine and cortisol the same mix that makes you crave more but feel worse at the same time.

It’s a loop that keeps us stuck chasing, never satisfied.

Our brain is hardwired to measure our worth against someone else.

It’s called social comparison theory.

Our brains evolved to scan for status, belonging, and safety. 🧠

Back in the day, that helped us survive.

Today it just messes with the peace within us. 🕊️

As you start your week, note:

Behind every “perfect” post is a story you don’t see.

Stress. Doubt. Sacrifice. Imposter. Debt. Pretence. Fear of being found out.

We spend energy trying to “keep up,” when the truth is — no one’s really ahead. We’re just on different paths.

When we constantly measure ourselves against others, we forget how far we’ve actually come.

We lose the joy in our story and chase a blur.

So, take a breath.

Be grateful for what’s yours.

Be proud of how far you’ve come.

Happiness doesn’t come from keeping up—it comes from owning your path

Because I’ve FINALLY learnt peace starts where comparison ends.
